I was sitting here trying to remember everything that happened this past week. Sometimes that's just really hard to do. I have not been quite as busy as before with customers, but still busy. I did manage a few days off from the bed and breakfast and caught up on some things at home. I had a lymph node massage on Wednesday, and I honestly cannot believe how much better I feel! I had a 30 minute one done several weeks ago, and didn't really notice anything. This time I did though-my nose was running like crazy, I could breathe normally, which for me is a big thing! I have a lot of allergies and always have, and I also have asthma. Since we have had all of this rain, my allergies are out of control. I was so excited to feel better, I made an appointment to have one done every other month. Jeff and I have been bickering about if that is enough. He wants me to go every month, but I just don't have the time, and it's a little expensive, especially if you do it all the time. So for now, every other month.
There has been a little less drama with the kids this week, although there is always something. We celebrated Wyatt's 19th birthday on Wednesday. Where does the time go? Anyway, he has been having a lot of fun with his birthday present. We gave him money to get his bow and arrow set worked on so he can fish with it. He has been gone every day doing that. I just hope he stays safe and out of trouble.
Last Friday, my friend and I went on another little adventure. We have so much fun on our little trips! First, we went to eat (that's always important), then we went to Morrison to the big flat sale, and loaded up on flowers. Next, we went to Owensville to a daylily farm. We wandered around looking, and then you go tell the owners what you want, and they dig it for you, marked and all. It was hard to pick from all of them. If I can figure out how to do it, I will post a link for you... http://www.homesteadfarms.com/
We had a lot of fun, and will be going back!
The other big excitement is that we are now the proud owners of a 963 Trackloader. What is that, you ask? I'm not sure, other than it is a GIANT piece of equipment with a super big loader thingy. Jeff could fill you in on what it really is. He has a job lined up for it already, so that's good. Wyatt and Jeff are in Columbia working on it today, and spending quality time together. He will be bringing it home soon.
We have a full house tonight at the bed and breakfast and 3 rooms full for the next two nights. I will be busy for a while! After that, it will slow down considerably. I plan to visit family in Iowa, go camping, and work on flower beds. I have one flower bed that has been over-run with poison ivy. It will be going away, and we will plant grass there. I helped my sister in law dig a few things out of there the other day, and now I am broken out-AGAIN (I think that's like 6 times this summer so far)!! I hate it! Something needs to change when it is becoming that kind of a problem. So I have given away most of my hostas, and have a few more things to move. I want Jeff to either poison what is left or light it on fire. Then the plan is to put cardboard over it until fall to be sure it's good and dead, then plant grass.
I am also working on a cookbook, after years of talking about it. My kids, esp. the girls get aggravated at me because I have a lot of that stuff in my head. I just do it, and don't worry about it much. I'm not much of a measurer, so I dump stuff. It almost never comes out the same, but I am trying to be better about it. I have had many customers ask for recipes as well. I have gotten just about all of the recipes entered into the software, I just have to wait for a few others to give me recipes. After that, it's proofing them, and picking out the specifications for the cookbook. I am so excited about it, mostly because all of my recipes will now be in one place! Wish me luck!!
Let's see what this next week has in store for us...

Whew! I am tired!!
Boy did I have a busy weekend! It started w/me thinking that I was going to have a night off, and maybe even a chance to sleep in a little (assuming Jeff would cooperate and not stomp around and slam cabinets!), but that didn't work out like I planned. I had some customers show up last minute. We ended up with two rooms. The guy forgot a book that he borrowed at a campground about 6 miles away, so after breakfast, I drove him there. We were supposed to have one room on Saturday, but we ended up w/three rooms full. One of the customers had tire trouble on his bike, so I took their son back w/me to fix it. I also ended up shuttling two ladies that were staying w/us to Hermann, and then back to pick them up. I still had supper to fix, laundry at home to do, etc., etc. Sunday, we had all four rooms booked, w/extra people in one of the rooms. Again, shuttled customers to Hermann to get supper, since Trailside Bar & Grill is closed on Sunday evenings. These ladies were so funny! The bought a bunch of wine, and got funnier quick! After returning from running them around town, I rec'd a call from my other customers, and the heat got to one of them pretty bad, so off to Portland to pick her up. I returned home to fix supper, and then squeezed in a quick bike ride. I have been busy all day cleaning up and getting ready for the next bunch tomorrow. Busy, busy, busy! Tomorrow, I am returning the lady to her vehicle in Hartsburg, and then off to Columbia to stock up on supplies very quick like so I can return in time to check more customers in. Like I said, WHEW!!
I did get in a little bit of pool time, but I am so tired, I think I am going to head for bed early! I made stuffed peppers and fresh snow peas. It was really good! A funny thing about the stuffed peppers, I made them many years ago, and Jeff requested that I not make them any more, so I haven't for over 10 years. He loves them now! I think that's weird!

I can't believe it's June!
Ok today is June 1, and I just can't believe it! At least the weather is not so cold. We are still working on filling up the pool, after a little setback. The liner fell in and we didn't realize it. We were filling it up overnight (bad idea!), and it was very windy. Since we totally drained it to clean it, there was no water in it to hold it in place. Anyway, we are back on track now! Jeff isn't so crazy about the pool. He never really has been, but I guess he will get over it!
We are still very busy at the bed and breakfast, which is very good. I am working on getting caught up on things at home though!
Wyatt returned from an adventure to Virginia. I'm glad he made it home safely, even if he did get into some trouble. He went to visit a good friend that is in the military. Ashley has been working a lot, but is also managing to find some time for fun. Megan and Josh are staying busy with work and gardening.
